“Ren came up through Jionji Junior High in Saitama City and the Ageo Senior hard-ball club before entering Urawa Gakuin. He was off the bench through the autumn of his second year and did not appear in an official game until the spring of his third, when he was used out of the bullpen four times and touched 148 km/h in the Kanto final against Yokohama. He wears number 11, having worn 20 earlier in his career. His head coach has stated publicly that he will file for the autumn 2026 NPB draft, and he is listed among the professional prospects for the 2026 high-school class as a large right-hander. At 187 cm and 94 kg the frame is the draw; the competitive record behind it is still thin, which is the honest read on a pitcher whose first official innings came this spring.”
